Elektro-Aqua 2010

The 7th Elektro-Aqua congress took place on 25 & 26 March 2010 at the Cliff Hotel Rügen. The motto of this year’s event was "The Influence of EMC on Electronic Devices". In numerous specialist talks by a wide variety of business partners, such as Endress + Hauser Messtechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Phoenix Contact Deutschland GmbH, Rittal GmbH & Co. KG, Danfoss GmbH and Siemens AG, as well as by the expert Karl-Heinz Otto, the participants were able to glean a great deal of information about this matter. The focus was particularly on the problem of mysterious failures of EDP systems. The talks were, of course, supplemented by plenty of opportunity for constructive discussion and conversation.

The feedback we have received concerning the 7th Elektro-Aqua congress has again been overwhelmingly positive.

We are looking forward to the 8th Elektro-Aqua congress in 2011.

Grand Prix for SMEs 2010

... And the nominees are...!

After the rewarding of our efforts in 2009 with the title of “Finalist” in the competition Großer Preis des Mittelstandes (‘Grand Prix for SMEs’), we are pleased to have been nominated again in 2010 for this Oscar of the business world.   

This is the third time that we have been among the select circle of nominees and we are proud to have our work recognised in this way. 

The nominations are made throughout Germany by local authorities, chambers of commerce, associations and personalities from the spheres of politics and administration. The competition ends each year with the award of the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes”.

Long-distance pipelines in the North Thuringian water supply system

In connection with the introduction of new-generation technology in the North Thuringian water supply system, we were once again contracted by the Thuringian long-distance wastewater disposal company Thüringer Fernwasserentsorgung.

Section 6 of the project, “Conversion of long-distance pipelines”, will be completed by the end of the current calendar year.

Telecontrol of the Nordhausen water board

The Nordhausen water association commissioned us with the migration of their telecontrol and control system. Owing to technical innovations in the field of automation, adjustments become necessary in the area of the telecontrol and control system. Project implementation will focus on the water association’s telecontrol and process control concept.

Hetlingen wastewater treatment plant

AZV Südholstein, Holm, a public agency of the Pinneberg Wastewater Association, commissioned us with the renovation of the CHPs and the supply and installation of electro-technical equipment for the Hetlingen wastewater treatment plant. With an annual treatment volume of 30 million cubic metres of water, the Hetlingen wastewater treatment plant is the largest in Schleswig-Holstein.

Implementation of the building project is planned by the end of 2010.

SMB award 2009

On Saturday 5th September 2009, the winner of this year’s “Grand Prix of SMBs” was honoured. After what was its second nomination, H&F Industry Data GmbH received the distinction "Finalist".

More than 3,300 small and medium-sized businesses were nominated for the “Oscar of SMBs” over Germany overall, 100 of which were from Mecklenburg- Western Pomerania.

The award honours successful entrepreneurial developments and their economic effects in the region. As well as the overall development of the company, the competition of the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation judges the creation and safeguarding of jobs and apprenticeships, research and development, customer proximity and service and entrepreneurial commitment.

We are proud of this commendation and see the award as a motivation to maintain and improve the level of the company’s attainments.

Wathlingen joint community

We were commissioned by the Wathlingen joint community to upgrade the electrotechnical equipment of the central municipal sewage plant. The upgrading of the electrotechnical components is part of extensive building activity at the plant. The plant is still being operated while the project is realised.

Hanse Sail 2009

At this year’s Hanse Sail we were again able to welcome numerous customers and partners on board the Sigandor. With the sunshine and outstanding wind conditions, this event was used for a constructive exchange of experiences together with lively discussions.

Elektro-Aqua 2009

We held the 6^th Elektro-Aqua this year in the Iberotel in Boltenhagen. The slogan of the forum was "Migration of automation and measurement technology in the age of information overload". As well as numerous presentations, the event focused on the discussions of the participants. Feedback was consistently positive.

We are already looking forward to Elektro-Aqua 2010.

Chance of an Oscar

100 companies from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern have been nominated for the "Grand Prix of Medium-Size Businesses" 2009. H&F Industry Data GmbH is among their number. 

This puts us for the second time in the select group of nominees and we are proud of this recognition.

Nominations are made nationally by local authorities, chambers, federations and political and administrative figures. The competition ends annually with the award of the "Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Businesses".

Servicing of wind generators - USA and Europe

We are again sending a team of workers to the USA by order of Suzlon Energy to carry out service work on wind generators. H&F Industry Data GmbH staff have already been able to deploy their technical know-how abroad and demonstrate their high level of qualification. As well as various assignments in the USA, we have also been in demand for conversion and retrofitting work on wind generators in Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Northern Thuringia interlinked water supply system

Among the tasks of Thuringia distant water supply are drinking water purification from untreated water out of drinking water reservoirs and its supply to drinking water associations, municipalities and public services.

After our successful handling of the migration of the control systems of the Erfurt telecontrol master system and the Luisenthal central control room and the interfacing of the telecontrol master system with the control room, Thuringia distant water supply has now commissioned us with the reconstruction of the control technology and process control system in the Northern Thuringia interlinked water supply system.

In the course of project implementation, the AEG-Technik control technology is being changed over to products of the Siemens company.

Hanse Sail 2008

Despite modest sunshine levels and a sometimes heavy swell, Hanse Sail 2008 was once again a complete success. Experiences, expectations and innovations were exchanged and discussed in a relaxed maritime atmosphere. We will be manufacturing an additional 40 type 2500 A switching stations for windpower parks in the USA. We received this order from Suzlon Energy Ltd.

Elektro- Aqua 2008

The 5th annual Elektro-Aqua was held this year amidst the seaside ambience of Hotel Neptun in Rostock-Warnemünde. The theme of the two day event was “Energy supply in the power industry through modern technology.” The interesting presentations, as well as productive discussions among the event participants, made the event a complete success.

We are looking forward to Elektro-Aqua 2009.

Visit of the Minister of Economics

Mr Jürgen Seidel, Minister of Economics of the Land of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, went on a visit to the H&F company. During his visit Mr Seidel gained an impression of H&F's prosperous economic growth. The visit included an inspection of the running production process in the extended production halls. Mr Seidel laid emphasis on the importance of H&F for the region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania not only with regard to the company size but also the entrepreneurial orientation.

Switching stations for wind farms in Brazil

We are constructing further 47 switching stations (2,500 A) for the wind farms of Suzlon Energy Ltd. in Brazil. The stations will be installed as bottom cabinets in 2.1 MW wind turbine generator systems of type S88 STV. The switching stations are intended to be delivered by April 2008.

Wasserversorgungsverband Osnabrück-Süd - remote control equipment

Wasserversorgungsverband Osnabrück-Süd (Water Supply Service of Osnabrück-South) has engaged us to rehabilitate the remote control equipment and switch cabinates located in their water supply area.

The company's water supply area covers a surface of 600 qkm and includes overhead storage tanks, pumping stations and Glandorf Waterworks operating as central control station.

The remote control system used for monitoring the drinking water network is to be replaced by state-of-the-art technology (SINAUT ST7, S7-300, S7-400) within the framework of project implementation.

Stade Sewage Treatment works

The Stade sewage disposal company has hired us to modernize and to extend the electrical equipment of the Stade Sewage Treatment Works and the 50 external pump stations. The pump stations are spread over the whole town area and the outlying districts of Stade and are intended to be equipped with remote control engeneering systems. Standby duty alarming, error diagnoses and remote interventions will be made via cellular phone. The low-voltage main distribution board installed in the sewage treatment works in the seventies will be modernized. The Stade Sewage Treatment Works will be expanded to a population equivalent of 200.000 EW.

2007 annual accounts

Our 2007 financial year ended on 30 September 2007. The positive trend of our company in previous years was successfully continued in the concluded financial year. The main performers were classical plant construction and mass switchgear production. The continuing trend allowed us to strengthen our team further through new appointments. We expect a similarly positive development in the coming financial year.

Locks at Varloh and Bollingerfähr

We are currently automating the locks at Varloh and Bollingerfähr. These locks regulate the water level on the Dortmund-Ems Canal, one of the most important waterways in Germany. As part of the major overhaul of the locks that were built 50 years ago, we have been commissioned to overhaul and upgrade the electrical and telecommunications equipment. Replacing the telecommunications equipment will include, among other things, the installation of a new CCTV system, loudspeaker and marine signalling systems as well as of equipment used to transmit signals to a higher-order lock. Some of our works are carried out with the locks continuing to operate. Wasser- und Schifffahrtsamt Bremen is the contract-placing authority.

Wind park in Minnesota/ USA

We will produce and supply 2.1 MW switchgears type S 88 for a wind park in Minnesota/USA. The switchgears will be manufactured to UL standards and certified by an external consultant. The wind park will be erected by Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation. The order has been placed with us by Suzlon Energy GmbH.

Schlossgarten Schwerin

The Wasser- und Bodenverband Schweriner See/ Obere Sude, Schwerin, assigned us with the automation of the dam plant of the Schlossgarten in Schwerin. Aim of that project is to cultivate the palace garden and to produce a water balance of the Schlossgarten as well as the preliminary lakes.

We are glad to prove again our competences with the controlling of complex dam plants.

Central sewage plant Lübeck

We got the order to realize the electronical equipment of the sewage plant in Lübeck by Krüger WABAG GmbH. The central sewage plant Lübeck, which is the main sewage plant of the city, is cleaned by innovative technologies and is built by the disposal company Lübeck.

New production hall

In february the 1st the new production hall was brought on line, after a construction time of 4 months. The production area of switchgear and controlgear - and the production capacity with it - was doubled at 7.5 a (750 m²). Operating conditions were improved as well and our IT department moves in new offices.

With this extention of business we are able to fulfill the increased requirements of our clients, such as more flexibility and higher quality standards.

Berliner Wasserbetriebe placed an order

H&F got the order for the water works in Niederschönhausen. With that H&F gets again an order of the Berliner Wasserbetriebe for the reconstruction of a pumping station with construction technique, technical equipment, pipeline construction and electrotechnology. Already several times H&F could prove its competences with different maintenance groups.

Pumping Station Wangerland

The pumping station Wangerland is getting automatised by H&F.

We got the order because of our competences with the reconstruction
of old army stations. The gates of that pumping and flood barrage station are 12 metres high and 80 centimetres strong!

The pumps have a power consumption of ca. 600 KW.

Christmas party in the new hall

This year our Christmas party was celebrated in the new production hall. Thanks the maximum employment of the craftsmen the heating could be engaged temporarily to pass the successful year 2004.

The finishings should be done by the beginning of february 2005.

BioGas Plant ProEn Soltau started up

Finally today the first road of BioGas Plant of ProEn in Soltau was brought on line. H&F received the order for the whole electrotechnical equipment and automation of that biogas plant just at the end of september.

It is planned to produce energy and heat out of 40.000 t of corn and crop. The usage of renewable raw materials for producing energy is in comparison with exhaustable raw materials almost neutral of carbon dioxid.

The second road is going to be finished by february next year.

visiting of the ministry of economy

Dr. Otto Ebnet, minister for economic affairs of Mecklenburg - Western Pomerania is visiting H&F. Sence for that was the assessment of subsidies for the new production hall. Within that visit he had the
chance to check the construction status.

Dr. Ebnet did emphazise the importance of new high technological companies such as H&F - next to tourism and agriculture.
